Elementary School
The Elementary School provides an Early Childhood/Kindergarten program for 4 and 5-year-olds that uses developmentally appropriate practices based on what is known about how young children learn and includes active learning experiences, varied instructional strategies, integrated curriculum, learning centers, and play. The learning program in Grades 1 through 5 is aligned to curriculum and instruction that is best practice in education. Core content areas include math, language arts (reading, writing, and spelling), science, social studies, computer technology, art, music, library, physical education, Spanish language, and Latin American social studies. After-school activities supplement these content areas to provide a well-rounded program of learning.
Elementary students follow both a U.S. and Paraguayan curriculum. Students are provided English instruction in the core academic subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies, as well as Music, Art, Computers, and Physical Education. A full range of clubs and sports is offered to enhance the learning experience. Students are also given Spanish language instruction for 90 minutes a day in Spanish Language, Social Studies, and Guarani. ASA Elementary School believes in having a passion for education as well as dedication to making the world a better place. Elementary School values parent-school collaboration and welcomes participation and communication.
