Puntaje perfecto en AP Spanish Language and Culture exam

ASA posee un programa de estudios que, a decir del MEC en su Resolución de reconocimiento de dicho plan, es diferenciado e integrado. En su faz correspondiente a los estudios paraguayos se articula una relación compleja y rica, ya que incorpora competencias y capacidades requeridas por el MEC, evaluaciones adaptativas propias de MAP (desde 3° a 8° grados) y elementos de Advanced Placement en 9° (Lengua Española y Cultura) y 12° grados (Literatura y Cultura Hispanoamericana). Por último, en High School se incorporan elementos curriculares abordados en el sistema de ingreso para la Universidad Nacional de Asunción y la Universidad Católica “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción”.

Además, se suministra una evaluación como simulacro de examen de ingreso a la UNA y se posee un convenio de ubicación avanzada vigente para egresados en la UC. Esta articulación programática es, sin dudas, un desafío académico de envergadura, ya que las áreas del Programa Paraguayo representan el 20 o 25% del tiempo total de instrucción.

Todo lo que antecede sirve como contextualización para expresar nuestro reconocimiento al estudiante Juan Marcos Cattoni por obtener puntuación perfecta en un examen de Ubicación Avanzada de nivel universitario en la primavera de 2021. Juan Marcos fue uno de los 77 estudiantes en el mundo que obtuvo todos los puntos posibles en el Examen AP de Lengua y Cultura Española.

“Los cursos y exámenes AP son de nivel universitario, y requieren un gran enfoque y persistencia entre los estudiantes participantes”, apunta el Sr. Trevor Packer, director del Programa de Ubicación Avanzada. Más adelante, prosigue "Aplaudimos a los educadores que alientan a los estudiantes a desafiarse a sí mismos, que motivan y alientan a diversos estudiantes a alcanzar su potencial académico".

Al respecto, el Sr. Fernando Giménez, profesor de Lengua y Cultura Española AP de 9° grado, asevera "celebro especialmente este logro de Juan Ignacio, ya que se trata de un estudiante sumamente dedicado y de particular aptitud intelectual. Destaco su inclinación a la lectura. Que esta conquista sirva como inspiración a los estudiantes para dar lo mejor de sí mismos."

Esta conquista de Juan Ignacio se suma a la bonita tradición de los logros obtenidos por los estudiantes de ASA en las materias de AP Spanish Language and Culture y AP Hispanic Literature and Culture, materias en que obtienen anualmente los mejores resultados de la institución. ASA has a study program that, according to the MEC in its Resolution of recognition of the plan, is differentiated and integrated. All of the foregoing serves as contextualization to express our appreciation to student Juan Marcos Cattoni for earning a perfect score on a college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Exam in spring 2021. Juan Marcos was one of only 77 of students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam.

“AP courses and exams are college-level, requiring great focus and persistence among participating students,” said Trevor Packer, head of the Advanced Placement Program. Mr. Packer continues: “We applaud the educators who encourage students to challenge themselves, who motivate and encourage diverse students to achieve their academic potential.”

In this regard, Mr. Fernando Giménez, 9th grade AP Spanish Language and Culture teacher, asserts "I especially celebrate this achievement of Juan Ignacio, since he is a highly dedicated student with particular intellectual aptitude. I emphasize his inclination to reading. May this achievement serve as an inspiration to the students to give the best, aim for excellence. "
