Grand Finale
On Wednesday, March 15, we welcomed members of the Orchestra H20 and their team of instrument builders to our school for 6 days of workshops, rehearsals, and concerts. Through project-based learning, students in grades 3, 4, 5 have built instruments, learned rhythms and created music, and learned about responsible use of water with the Tierra Nuestra team.
This has been an incredible opportunity for our students and our school. This group, more commonly known as "The Recycled Orchestra", is famous in Paraguay and around the world. They have opened for famous musicians in South America and have performed in international festivals. All the instruments made by our students were built from materials that are used to carry water. We had drums, claves, bongos, maracas. Through music, our students learned about the incredible water resources in Paraguay and how to better care for our country. El miércoles 15 de marzo dimos la bienvenida a los miembros de la Orquesta H20 de Sonidos de la Tierra. El grupo de músicos trabajo con nuestros alumnos de 3er, 4to y 5to grados durante 6 días en talleres. En estos talleres nuestros alumnos construyeron instrumentos reciclados, aprendieron nuevos ritmos, crearon música y aprendieron sobre el uso responsable del agua. Fue una experiencia increíble para nuestros alumnos. Este grupo, más conocido como, “la orquesta de instrumento reciclados”, es famosa en el Paraguay y en el mundo. Ellos han abierto conciertos para músicos famosos de Sur América y han participado en festivales internacionales. Todos los instrumentos construidos por nuestros alumnos fueron hechos con materiales que se usan para transportar o guardar agua. Nuestros alumnos hicieron tambores, maracas y bongos. A través de la música, nuestros estudiantes aprendieron sobre los increíbles recursos de agua que tiene el Paraguay y como cuidarlos mejor. Los estudiantes del 3er, 4to y 5to grados compartieron el escenario con la Orquesta H20 el 24 de marzo en un concierto para nuestro padres y alumnos en el Complejo Cultural y Deportivo del colegio. Fue el Gran Fínale de esta increíble experiencia.
ASA students in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th performed with the H20 Orchestra for parents and students on March 24th in the school’s Cultural and Sports Complex.. It was the Grand Finale to this wonderful learning experience.
