This year’s tournament proved that excellence runs in the family, with several second-generation champions lifting trophies:

• The Urrutia Altieri Family: Luis was a champion in 1998; his son, Joaquin, repeated the feat this year.
• The Varela Gimenez Family: Violet took the title in 2000, and her sons Facu and Nico brought the trophy home in 2026.
• The Ojeda Fleitas Family: In 1999, Natalia won as a left back; in 2026, Jime secured the championship as a right back.
• The Gimenez Zavala Family: Jose was a 1995 soccer champion; his children, Sebastian and Luciana, swept both the boys' and girls' soccer titles this year.

Making History: Individual Milestones

Several student-athletes reached unprecedented heights in the 2026 edition:

• The Ultimate Multi-Champion: In 18 years of Intercolegial history, no one has won more than Alejandro. With seven total titles (four in soccer and three in basketball), he also achieved a Double MVP this year, winning the Most Valuable Player award in both sports. He has represented the ASA Gators since the eighth grade.
• Back-to-Back Success: At only 14 years old, Joaquina is the youngest player to become a back-to-back champion in her first two ASA Intercolegial appearances (Basketball and Soccer).
• Unbeatable Defense: Goalkeeper Luna remained a literal wall, finishing both the 2025 and 2026 games without conceding a single goal.

The future of ASA athletics is already here. Lara (14) and Mar (12) represented the Gators with pride in the Art Competition, while the varsity rosters saw a significant shift: all eight Middle School players selected for Varsity teams this year were girls.

• Profe Alemán: 15 years of coordinating the Intercolegial spirit.
• Coach Hugo Cáceres: 7 finals and 5 titles in 10 years of men’s soccer.

• Historic Drought Over: The women’s basketball team captured the championship for the first time in 25 years (last winning in 2001).
• Total Domination: This marks only the second time in 15 years (joining 2023) that ASA won four championships in a single tournament.
• Staying Cool: It takes a lot of energy to keep our athletes at their best—over 31,500 kilos of ice were used throughout the 2026 Intercolegial.

• Éxito consecutivo: Con tan solo 14 años, Joaquina es la jugadora más joven en convertirse en campeona consecutiva en sus dos primeras participaciones en el Intercolegial del ASA (baloncesto y fútbol).
• Defensa Invencible: La portera Luna se mantuvo como "un muro", terminando los partidos de 2025 y 2026 sin recibir un solo gol.
