FRED (Fathers read every day)
On April 5th students in K4, K5, and first grade and their dads, uncles, grandpas or older brothers had a fun night of active play and reading in the Cultural and Sports Complex. Mr. Rivera and Mr. Warner coordinated and led this fun event. We had 113 people; our younger students and their dads, uncles, grandpas or brothers, involved in this fun activity. It was great to see all of them playing and reading in the gym. Some were kicking penalties, others were shooting basketballs, others were playing with hula hoops, and others with jump ropes. After playing for a while and releasing healthy energy students choose books and found a cozy spot in the gym. The adult read to the child and then the child read to the adult. To end this fun activity Mr. Warner read The Three Billy Goats Gruff out loud to all the students and adults. Students went home with a copy of the book in the end.

El 5 de abril nuestros alumnos del K4, K5 y 1er grado con sus papas, abuelos, tíos o hermanos mayores participaron de una noche de divertidos juegos activos en el gimnasio y mucha lectura. Los profes Rivera y Warner organizaron y coordinaron esta genial actividad. Hubo 113 personas, incluyendo nuestros alumnos más pequeños y sus papas, abuelos, tíos o hermanos. Fue muy lindo ver a todos ellos jugando y leyendo en el gimnasio. Jugaron diferentes juegos y luego leyeron libros. Para finalizar este divertido evento Mr. Warner leyó un libro de cuentos a todos los presentes. Nuestros alumnos luego llevaron un libro a casa como recuerdo de este hermosos evento.
