Destinos universitarios de egresados de ASA

Tenemos el gusto de anualmente dar seguimiento a la prosecución de estudios de nuestros egresados, por medio de estos quehaceres concretos: analizar sus destinos universitarios y suministrar una encuesta de satisfacción con respecto a la formación recibida en ASA y su utilidad en la continuidad de sus estudios superiores. Cada año (desde la promoción 2009) encuestamos a nuestros egresados para recabar datos que informen nuestras acciones pedagógicas. Asimismo, realizamos entrevistas con algunos egresados para interesarnos por dichos estudios, para dialogar sobre su formación, sobre cómo les está yendo y cómo se puede continuar el acompañamiento.

En esta ocasión, deseamos compartir información sobre los destinos de estudios de grado, es decir, dónde continúan sus estudios universitarios. En ese sentido, es oportuno referir que antes de la promoción 2013 el destino universitario habitualmente escogido por nuestros estudiantes (alrededor de 60% de ellos) era Paraguay: en particular, la Universidad Católica. A partir del 2013, las estadísticas señalan un cambio electivo. Desde ese entonces, el principal destino universitario pasa a ser Estados Unidos. Asimismo, ha aumentado (en especial, en algunas promociones) el número de estudiantes que prosiguen sus estudios en otros países, ya de Latinoamérica, ya de Europa, ya de Asia. Como verán allí, los principales destinos universitarios de nuestros egresados siguen siendo Estados Unidos y Paraguay.

En este sentido, se entiende que lo principal para guiar la decisión de nuestros estudiantes en la elección de carrera y de universidad es su vocación académica. Es decir, serán tan o más exitosos académicamente si estudian lo que les apasiona, en el espacio académico mejor vinculado con su predilección académica. Por lo tanto, siempre será un buen proyecto que nuestros estudiantes aprovechen lo mejor posible cada una de las materias que tomen en ASA, para prepararse satisfactoriamente para el futuro, ya que en no pocas ocasiones uno propone, pero la vida dispone. Estar bien equipado para el futuro, basado en una sana seguridad, en asumir las lógicas perplejidades con madurez y prudencia, y en una necesaria capacidad de adaptación, se intuyen elementos cruciales para “dar el salto” al siguiente nivel formativo.

Así también, tengo el gusto de realizar periódicamente visitas a clases de nuestros estudiantes, en particular seniors y juniors, para compartir datos estadísticos sobre destinos universitarios, resultados en evaluaciones internas y externas, resultados de encuestas, etc. Todo con el propósito de colaborar para que los estudiantes, en particular los mayores, reflexionen sobre la naturaleza del desafío académico implicado en los estudios de nivel superior, naveguen sus incertidumbres, y puedan tomar decisiones informadas en ese sentido.

Tendremos el gusto de seguir en comunicación con nuestros egresados para dialogar no sólo sobre sus aventuras académicas y culturales, sino también para preparar lo mejor posible a las actuales generaciones de estudiantes que urden, desde su presente, su futuro cultural.

Also, I have the pleasure of making periodic visits to our student’s classes, in particular seniors and juniors, to share statistical data on university destinations, results in internal and external evaluations, survey results, etc. All with the purpose of collaborating so that students, particularly seniors and juniors, reflect on the nature of the academic challenge involved in higher-level studies, navigate their uncertainties, and make informed decisions in that regard.
We will have the pleasure of continuing in communication with our graduates to talk not only about their academic and cultural adventures, but also to prepare as best as possible the current generations of students who plan, from their present, their cultural future.

ASA Graduate College Destinations
We are pleased to annually monitor the pursuit of studies of our graduates, through these specific tasks: the analysis of their university destinations and then providing a satisfaction survey regarding the training received at ASA and its usefulness in the continuity of their studies. Each year, since the class of 2009, we survey our graduates to collect data to inform our pedagogical actions. Likewise, we conducted interviews with some of the graduates to show interest in said studies, discuss their training, how they are doing in general and how can we continue to support them.
In this occasion, we wish to share information about undergraduate study destinations, that is, where they continue their university studies. In this sense, it is appropriate to mention that prior to the class of 2013, the university destination usually chosen by our students (around 60%) was Paraguay: particularly Universidad Católica. As of 2013, the statistics indicate a change in choice. Since then, the main university destination has become the United States. Likewise, the number of students who continue their studies in other countries, Latin America, Europe and Asia, has increased. To visualize the information in numbers, check the table below.

As you can see there, the main university destinations for our graduates continue to be the United States and Paraguay. In this sense, it is understood that what guides the decision of our students in the choice of career is their academic vocation. That is, they will be as or more successful academically if they study what they are passionate about, in the academic space best linked to their academic predilection. Therefore, it will always be good for our students to make the best of each of the subjects they take at ASA, to prepare satisfactorily for the future, since on many occasions one proposes, but life disposes.

Being well equipped for the future, based on a healthy security, on assuming the logical perplexities with maturity and prudence, and on a necessary capacity for adaptation, you can feel crucial elements to "take the leap" to the next level of training.
