Community Service: ASA Students Collaborate with Operation Smile

ASA students from the Operation Smile community service group participated in the local surgery program of Operation Smile Paraguay. The students arrived at the center on time and were ready to support patients, their families, and the volunteers.

The group assisted in several key areas, including:

• Playing with patients before they went into the operating room (OR).
• Cleaning beds and changing bed sheets.
• Making an inventory of food.
• Taking items from the kitchen to the doctors’ lounge.
• Preparing a mural for all the medical volunteers who assisted patients during the program.

The students did a great job that day, consistently demonstrating ASA values and showing a willingness to help everyone. The school community is grateful for the opportunity always provided to the service group to participate in Operation Smile activities, allowing the students to contribute to the community and reminding them to be grateful for all they have. Los estudiantes del ASA del grupo de servicio comunitario de Operación Sonrisa participaron en el programa local de cirugía de Operación Sonrisa Paraguay. Llegaron puntualmente al centro y estuvieron listos para apoyar a los pacientes, sus familias y a los voluntarios.

El grupo colaboró ​​en varias áreas clave, incluyendo:

• Jugar con los pacientes antes de que ingresaran al quirófano.
• Limpiar las camas y cambiar las sábanas.
• Hacer un inventario de los alimentos.
• Llevar los artículos de la cocina a la sala de médicos.
• Preparar un mural para todos los voluntarios médicos que ayudaron a los pacientes durante el programa.

Los estudiantes hicieron un excelente trabajo ese día, demostrando constantemente los valores del ASA y su disposición a ayudar a todos.
