ASA Shines at AMISA EdCon 2026: Connecting Minds & Cultivating Kindness
From April 21 to 24, a dedicated team of nine ASA members traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the AMISA (American International Schools in the Americas) Annual Conference, hosted by EARJ. Embodying the conference theme “Connecting Minds and Cultivating Kindness,” our delegation represented both ASA and Paraguay with excellence on this high-level international stage.
ASA played a strategic role in the conference program. Alongside the participants, Director General Dr. Ben Ploeger and three ASA team members facilitated expert sessions.
A Message from the Director General
"I had the opportunity to attend with eight ASA teachers. We learned, reflected, connected with colleagues from around the region, and returned sharper in how we support students," shares Dr. Ben Ploeger. "I left feeling proud of the ASA team. They were thoughtful, engaged, generous with others, and serious about their craft. I felt honored and humbled to be there with them. Schools get better when educators learn from one another and bring that learning back to students."
A Collaborative Learning Experience
The conference allowed our staff to immerse themselves in cutting-edge workshops regarding school leadership, student well-being, and new educational technologies.

Del 21 al 24 de abril, un comprometido equipo comprometido de nueve miembros del ASA viajó a Río de Janeiro, Brasil, para la Conferencia Anual de AMISA (Colegios Americanos Internacionales en las Américas), organizada por EARJ. En consonancia con el lema de la conferencia, "Conectando mentes y cultivando la bondad", nuestra delegación representó al ASA y a Paraguay con excelencia en este importante evento internacional.
El ASA desempeñó un papel estratégico en el programa de la conferencia. Junto con los participantes, el Director General, Dr. Ben Ploeger, y tres miembros del equipo del ASA facilitaron sesiones de expertos.
Mensaje del Director General

La conferencia permitió a nuestro personal sumergirse en talleres de vanguardia sobre liderazgo escolar, bienestar estudiantil y nuevas tecnologías educativas.
