George Orwell's dystopian classic 1984
As a concluding activity for a unit on George Orwell's dystopian classic 1984, twelfth-grade students were tasked with answering the question: How and why is 1984 relevant for modern audiences? They grappled with this question by examining current events in the areas of surveillance, propaganda, mass-entertainment, censorship and more. The presentations in the MPR were a success thanks to the hard work of students and the participation of other classes as audience members.
