The American School of Asuncion presents the 2022 Art Shows & STEAM Expo Making the world a Better Place.

Come join us for 3 nights of the Artistic & Intellectual activities and student creations this May 25th - 27th

Elementary Art Show

Opening Ceremony Wednesday, May 25th, 7:00 - 9:00 PM,

Open to the public Wed-Thurs, May 25th & 26th from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and

Friday, May 27th from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

ASA Cultural & Sports Complex

Elementary students have studied artists that have "Made the World A Better

Place" throughout this year. From Indigenous artists of Paraguay (Clemente

Juliuz, Andres Cañete, Olga Blinder to Keith Haring, Eric Carle, Alma

Woodsey Thomas, Romare Bearden, Reggie Laurent, Faith Ringold, and Bisa

Butler. Their works focus on the human condition and humanity, diversity,

and the similarities between us. Bisa Butler says, "We all have the same

wants, desires, loves, and fear. We are all human."

Through our study of artists and our own creations, we know that it takes

all of us to protect our earth, show kindness and empathy, and make the

world a better place. We rise together!

ASA Cultural & Sports Complex

Middle school students have embarked on a one-way journey into the

wonderful world of art inspired and committed to making the world a better

place. From Jakob Lawrence Muniz, Bruce Peterson, Henri Matisse, Kandinsky,

Georgia O’Keeffe and Romare Bearden. High School students carried out

personal pictorial searches on themes that reflect on humanity, empathy,

fragility and equality. For the centenary of our beloved Olga Blinder, the

students of the 7th and AP made engravings inspired by her work and the

Paraguayan culture. Each work in this exhibition opens a door for us and

allows us to assume and understand the great contribution of Art as a tool

for personal and social transformation.
